R2 Elective Slots:
Our clinic offers R2 Elective rotations with a variety of preceptors at our institution. Below is the essential information about our elective process:
- When are applications accepted? Applications for the 25/26 PGME year are now open. The submission deadline is November 30th at midnight. The applications are sent out by the program administrators of the department. If you wish to be added to the distribution list, or are an out of province student interested in applying, please email julianna.shipanoff@ubc.ca
- What length electives are offered at the clinic? The clinic offers full block rotations, in alignment with the UBC PGME block schedule. The best way to find the annual block schedule is by googling “UBC PGME block schedule – starting calendar year of the academic year – finishing calendar year of the academic year” for example: UBC PGME Block Schedule 2022-2023. Please note the clinic does not offer R2 Electives shorter than one block.
- How are applications chosen for an elective? There are very limited elective opportunities at our clinic. Once the application period has closed, all received applications are reviewed by our internal committee. Chosen candidates are ranked, and elective slots are offered by priority ranking.
