At UBC SEM, research is part of our foundation. Our researchers are affiliated with both the School of Kinesiology and the Canadian Sport Institute – Pacific, collaborating on a broad spectrum of research spanning basic and environmental physiology, sport science and high performance exercise physiology. They have particular interest in clinical research related to the treatment of pain using the GunnIMS needling technique. As a FIFA Centre of Excellence, we collaborate with the men’s and women’s national teams, the Vancouver Whitecaps FC, and TSG Hoffenheim of the German top-tier Bundesliga. Research topics have included heat acclimation, air pollution and soccer and individual case studies related to vascular function in athletes.
For privacy reasons, we are not able to take volunteers. For students who are looking to get involved with research, please note that the clinic does not facilitate recruitment for these roles. Please contact the individuals you would like to work with directly. We cannot disclose physician emails, but we can forward direct inquiries.
