Dr. Rob Drapala

Dr. Drapala is a graduate of our Sport & Exercise Medicine Fellowship program and has since provided care for elite and recreational athletes. His athletic roots began in track and field where he was an All-American sprinter for Simon Fraser University while completing his undergraduate degree. Dr. Drapala has experience across many sports in his roles as chief medical officer for UBC Varsity Athletics, team physician with the Vancouver Whitecaps FC Academy and team physician with the Vancouver Canucks. He was also the Chief Medical Officer for the 2019 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships, and has volunteered at multi-sport games including the World Masters Games and BC Winter Games.

Dr. Drapala’s professional interests include all aspects of child, adolescent and adult sport and exercise medicine with a particular interest in alternative/complementary injury management (prolotherapy, platelet-rich plasma/PRP), ultrasound guided musculoskeletal injection and elite athlete medicine. Dr. Drapala is the Chair of our FIFA Soccer Medicine Committee.
